Summary

Maineri's art was recently on display at Friendship Village

John Mainieri, an active member of the Tempe Artists Guild (TAG), was recently invited by Friendship Village to showcase his art in a common area frequented by residents.  Friendship Village is a vibrant senior living community that has attracted artists, some of whom are current members of the Tempe Artists Guild.  TAG is a vibrant community of artists who enjoy improving their skills, meeting fellow artists, and sharing their enthusiasm for art.  TAG artists regularly win awards and recognition for their art.  We want to share some of those moments with you.

Each month, a different artist, who is a resident at FVT, is asked to display his/her work. You can visit John’s art here.  You can see more of TAG artists’ work here.  John explains: My art is primarily painting and is an eclectic mix of landscape painting, life drawing, primarily portraiture and still life. I’ve studied art at Mesa Community College and created work using charcoal, acrylics, pastels, and watercolor. For the Friendship Village exhibit, I chose to display drawings and paintings covering the period from the time that I took my first drawing and Life Drawing courses at Mesa Community College through to my most recent paintings.

The Tempe Artists Guild is a 501c(3) organization based in Tempe, Arizona.  Please visit our web page at: Tempeartistsguild.org.  If you are an artist, please consider becoming a member.  You do not need to be a Tempe, Arizona resident.  Most of our meetings are on Zoom and we welcome participants from anywhere.  Membership benefits include a personal web page, monthly speakers’ meetings, workshops, opportunities to exhibit your work, and participation in a virtual (online) gallery.
