Title of presentation: Plein Air Painting
Description of presentation:
Join me as I show you how I paint the landscape en plein air. We’ll start with basic principles, and then I’ll demonstrate my method for “capturing the moment” quickly and efficiently but without sacrificing mood and magic. By focusing on just value and color temperature in an initial “best guess,” you’ll discover you’ll have plenty of time left for making adjustments at a more leisurely pace. (My field demonstration will be pre-recorded, but I will doing a live narration as I play the video.)
After the demonstration, I’ll give you some guidance on what to look for when you go out to paint on your own. Then, we’ll meet back for a critique session where I’ll identify problems and offer suggestions for correcting them. These principles apply for all art mediums.
Talk & Demo, 10-12 Student Painting, 11:30-3 Critique Session, 3-4
Mediums: oil paint and pastel
