TAG hosts one outstanding artist each month on the third Thursday at 7:00PM MST. During the Zoom event, the artist shows and talks about their work, the creative process, obstacles and solutions, and future goals. Questions are encouraged. Often the guest artist agrees to critique art submitted by viewers.
“I love TAG’s Speaker Series because I get to ‘meet’ the person behind the art. Even if they work in a medium that I’m not familiar with, I benefit from learning how they generate, plan, and implement their ideas. The critiques are fascinating because it’s fun to discover what other TAG artists are doing and I see how my own art can be enhanced.”
Participants receive email notifications about all TAG activities and the Zoom link to access all activities. Additionally, participants are invited to upload their art to a personal page on the TAG website, submit their work for any TAG exhibition, and vote in TAG elections for the Board of Directors. Fee: $35 March-February; $20 September-February.
TAG proudly hosts several one-day Zoom workshops each season, featuring instruction, conversation, and feedback from an outstanding artist. Typically, the workshop begins on a Saturday at 10:00AM MST with a demonstration by the artist. Before noon, the workshop adjourns to provide time for participants to work on their own. The artist is available for individual consultation at points during the work time. A critique session and group discussion occurs from 3:00 to 4:00PM, so each participant receives individual feedback about the day’s work.
One recent participant commented, “I loved TAG’s Zoom workshop because I had a ‘front row seat’ during the demonstration, and worked on my own version of the project in the comfort of my home studio. I was able to ask the instructor for individual assistance and feedback. The group critique was powerful, and I felt just as inspired by the other participants as by the instructor.”
Each workshop is $40 for those who are enrolled in the Speaker Series, and $50 for those not enrolled in the Speaker Series.
