Art Shows
11/6/2010 - The Petersen House Show ("Art at the Red House") is a 1-day event, in collaboration
with the City of Tempe, on the grounds of the historic Petersen House on Southern and Priest in Tempe. The show is open
to TAG members, juried artists of the Arizona Art Alliance, and ASU art students. Participants must provide their own
set-up. Tempe sales taxes will be handled by TAG. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. (Deadline
for entry is September 6.)

2/11/2011 - 2/13/2011 - Annual
Valentine's Day Show at The Farm at South Mountain. This is a 3-day show in and around the Artists'
Studio at this internationally known location. The show is open from 9 am - 3 pm each day.

Workshops
October 7th & 8th - Jossy Lownes
will do a 2-day workshop, "TempeScapes, Bold and Free", for TAG
on Oct. 7 & 8. Her website: http://www.jossylownes.net/ Details:
Instructor,Jossy Lownes is comfortable using watercolor,
acrylic, oil and collage to create city scapes, landscapes, and figurative artwork. All media are welcome and, for those who
are interested, the use of mixed media and collage will be introduced.
This workshop will be part of TAG’s
Images of Tempe project.
Participants are urged to bring photos of Tempe city scapes and
landscapes and Tempe
interiors with or without figures. Everything
that an artist is interested in putting in their work is represented
in Tempe. Photos of Tempe by TAG members will be available if you do
not have your own. Remember night scenes are
exciting as are
reflections. (When is the Town Lake coming back?) Get in touch with
Tempe -- see it through the
eyes of an artist, take some photos, make
a few sketches and then come to Tempescapes workshop.
Jossy will
help with the hard part of translating a photograph into a
painting, collage, or mixed media work. She will assist with
composition, new ways to render architecture, and how to use line and
color to create an exciting perspective.
Kick start your creative
energy and join in. Jossy plans on assisting participants to produce
3 or 4 paintings
in two days!

September - Basha's Art Museum, lunch at BJ's Restaurant and Brewery.
October 22 - The State Fair to
check out the art exhibit and "fair food".
November 19 -
A trip is planned to the Tempe Center for the Arts biennial glass exhibit. We'll lunch
in downtown Tempe, then use the opportunity to take photos of Tempe for our "Images of Tempe" project.
Please plan to join us for a day of seeing artwork and having fun. This is a great way
of getting to know your fellow artists. If you have a favorite place you would like for us to schedule a field trip, please
