Artist of the Month Rules
At the monthly TAG meeting, members vote by written ballot for a TAG Artist of the Month (AOM). Guests may not enter the competition or vote for the AOM.
The competition runs from January through November, with Artist of the Year (AOY) chosen in December. Once an artist has won 1st place, that artist cannot compete again the rest of the year.
Art submitted must be the artist's original work (based on artist's own photos or ideas). Reproduction of another artist's work, or work copied from a magazine, book, calendar, copyrighted photo, etc. do not qualify.
Members vote for their first and second choice; and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons are awarded. (In case of a tie, a ribbon is awarded to each artist tied for either 1st or 2nd. In this situation, there is no 3rd place ribbon awarded.)
The TAG president announces the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners at the end of the meeting.
At the December party, all 1st place winners bring their winning artwork to the meeting for submission to the AOY competition. If the work is no longer available, a photo of the work is accepted for the competition.
